Windows 7 Desktop does not update / refresh

Soumis par Deajan le

There are really a couple of things i hate in this world, among which Windows 7 x64's desktop doesn't refresh on file operations so you actually have to hit F5 to update it manually.

This applies to folder creations, renamming, etc. Luckily there is an old registry hack already present in Windows 95 that can fix this behavior.

You only have to create a DWORD called UpdateMode which value will be 0 under the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Update

Like always, the fix is downloadable for those who can't be bothered.
